Island Girl Shelly

My latest doll, and now the pink mohair yarn is gone, so no more 80's band hair!! LOL I think I'll call this style Island Girls
I love her and think so far she is my fave....do I say that every time?? I like the way her face turned out, wanted to do some embroidering. And I like the look of using different fabrics for the body. The flip flops were bought at Mike's and I embellished them.
I have a new doll design I just finished drawing and finalizing, so that is probably what you will see next. I think I will make them for my Etsy shop. Also I am doing a Hello Kitty swap and having so much fun with that!!!

Cup Cake for a Queen!

This cup cake is actually cake size, well, small cake size. It's sitting on a cake stand. I saw it on the cover of the July issue of Family Circle Magazine my Mom had. At first I just thought it was a regular cupcake, and I thought why would they just put a single cup cake on the cover?? But then I noticed it was sitting on a cake stand. I think they had a special offer inside the magazine too/div>

It's a 2 piece Wilton cake pan and I had to have it!! I bought mine at Jo-Ann's and it's not cheap so I would recommend you use your coupon. Michael's may have it too, I forgot to look. Here is a link to the Wilton site so you can have a look:

It used one box cake mix but you have to trim both the top and bottom so they will sit nicely together. I put too much cake mix in the bottom portion and not enough in the top part, so next time I'll make that adjustment.
I think it looks really cute and the decoration possibilities are pretty endless. Yum Yum :-)

Home Sweet Home!!

Back from vacation and back to internet access!!! Woo Hoo! It was an awesome vacation but I did miss cyberspace. :-) Here is the Pirate Kitty I made for my son to take on vacation. He named him Ninja. I think I will make some of these Pirate Kitties for my Etsy shop.

Ahoy there me kitty!

One of my girlfriend's daughters was over playing with my son for the day. She is a fan of my various doll projects, so I decided to make her a pirate doll. She wanted a pirate KITTY. And her only other requests was that it have pink on and that it be wearing a belt. I like the belt idea, I wouldn't probably have done that on my own!! Kids are sooo creative.

10 PM my house...

My animals are my late night crafting buddies. My maltepoo Shea Bay will sleep nearby, Sara my labradoodle will sleep right on top of my feet while I sew or craft. And Nani Cats will lay right behind the sewing machine, so I can barely move the fabric through. Thank goodness for lint rollers!!!
But not on this night. This is how I found them in various places of the house. Not moving, not even remotely interested in what I was working on. I realized I was the only person/animal still awake in the house. So guess what...if ya can't beat them join them...I went to bed!

Candy

Candy Candy Candy I can't let you go...She's done!! Hard to give her away tho- I haven't heard from my swap partner and she hasn't posted anything on Craftster for a while, so that makes me nervous too. I guess I'm just paranoid after getting flaked on in my last swap. Hopefully she'll like her new home.

She has BIG pink hair and a cute sundress and shrug. And of course mary janes, which I did not make, bought at Mike's. Then I made 3 sundresses to send and some poppet supplies. I plan on making myself a poppet too, once I am feeling better. I have been majorly under the weather and am tired of it!
