A Break from the Creepy, YAY! Cute

If you are my swap partner for the Black Apple Doll Swap on Craftster, LOOK AWAY NOW! =0 Okay, I guess that was fair warning. I have yet to finish all my creepy dolls, the last 2 are almost there, but I need a cute break.

I signed up for this swap because I have been wanting to make a doll with the pattern created by an artist named Emily Martin who was featured on Martha Stewart. You can find the pattern HERE
I would recommend this pattern to anyone new to doll making, it is a very easy pattern to put together and I think you'll be pleased with your results. If you are an experienced doll maker, you could always add accessories or clothing, paint a detailed face, etc to increase the challenge.

My swap partner wanted a Christmas themed doll and enjoys cooking/baking so I had the perfect Christmas cookie fabric to use. I also made her a candy cane apron and a star cookie to hold. I am pleased with how she turned out, hopefully she'll be pleased too.

I am pleased with how she turned out, hopefully she'll be pleased too. I requested a Halloween themed doll, can't wait to see what I get! The mail deadline isn't for several weeks tho-... must be patient.

Blythe Goodies

I finished my items for the Get Crafty for my Blythe Swap. So if you are my partner, NO PEEKING! First I made 2 sweaters from toddler socks. One Hello Kitty and one in Halloween colors. I made some necklaces to go with the Halloween one, but forgot to photograph them. =( I love to make doll sweaters from socks, really simple and they look great on. I had some tiny iron-on glitter stars so I added them to the Halloween sweater.

Then my partner had requested some bedding, so I made her one of my envelope style sleeping bag and pillow set. I found this really cute skully and heart fabric and I really love how it turned out. I think I need to get some more of that fabric! Cute.
The swap package is on it's way to Alaska, how exciting and adventurous. I guess even though I don't really get to travel, at least some of my crafted items do! LOL

Min Pin Pin Cushion

If you happen to be my partner in the Pin Cushion Swap on Craftster LOOK AWAY NOW!! Okay, that was fair warning. If you are not my partner, have a peek at my Min Pin Pin Cushion. My partner has an adorable min pin and you know how much I love making miniature dogs, so she thought a min pin pin cushion would be great. But you know, once I was done, I didn't really want to stick pins in her! So I made her a bandanna and that is actually what the pins stick in, makes me feel better. =) She's about 7 inches tall at the tip of her ears and very sassy.

Then I made a doggie bone needle book to go with her. I added some rhinestones and did a blanket stitch in pink floss around all the edges. It's funny, but before I can blanket stitch anything, I always have to look up in my little stitchery book to remind myself how to blanket stitch. I CAN NEVER REMEMBER HOW. What is that about???

Well, here she is!!! Hopefully she'll love it.
